Obituary for Benjamin D. "Dan" Nutter

Benjamin D. “Dan” Nutter, 72, of Fort Wayne, IN died Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Coventry Meadows in Fort Wayne, IN.

Mr. Nutter was born on September 3, 1945 in Conway, AR to Benjamin Starr and Jerita Diane (Payne) Nutter; they preceded him in death.

Dan worked for many years as a machinist for both Kunkle Valve and White Electronics. He was a member of Tillman Road Church of God in Fort Wayne, IN and the Waynedale American Legion Post #241. He enjoyed doing car restorations and word searches and loved being at Shriner Lake.

Mr. Nutter was United States veteran serving in the Air Force.

On March 27, 1971 in Decatur, IN he married Charlene Hawkins; Mrs. Nutter survives in Fort Wayne, IN.

Also surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Christina Smith of Fort Wayne, IN and Cindy and Chad Tinkel of Fort Wayne, IN; six grandchildren, Austin, Griffin, and Dani Tinkel, Tyler, Tanner and Teegan Smith; a sister, Karen and Tim Easton of Fort Wayne, IN; a brother, Larry Nutter of Fort Wayne, IN; and a several nieces and nephews.

Services will take place on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 11:00 am at Tillman Road Church of God, 3710 E. Tillman Rd., Fort Wayne, IN with Pastor Bill Bradley officiating.

Burial will follow at Prairie Grove Cemetery in Fort Wayne, IN.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the church from 4-8 pm.

Memorials may be made to either American Parkinson Disease Association or Tillman Road Church of God.
