James R. Jones

Mr. Jones was born on July 10, 1939 in Arcadia, Kan. to James John and Margaret Elizabeth (Bean) Jones. They preceded him in death.
He worked for many years for Goodyear and Dometic Corporation where he worked as a supervisor and in the customer service dept. While working for Dometic Corp., he became a national training supervisor.
Mr. Jones was a United States Army veteran.
Mr. Jones was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in LaGrange, Ind., LaGrange Volunteer Fire Dept., Order of the Arrow, Blue Springs F. & A.M. #337, for 12 years was a Boy Scout leader, and was a City Council Member and an Alderman Ward III in Blue Springs, Mo.
On July 27, 1958 in Missouri he married Paula Dyer; Mrs. Jones survives in LaGrange, Ind.
Also surviving is a son and daughter-in-law, James John "JJ" Jones and Jane Maurer-Jones of Clyde, N. Car.; a granddaughter, Sierra Marie Jones of Indianapolis, Ind.; and two sisters, Jean Croft of Kansas City, Mo. and Patricia M. Sullivan of Trenton, Ohio.
He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Eurah E. Croft.
According to his wishes cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 7:00 pm at the Meridian Sun Lodge, 0880 N - 075 E, LaGrange, Ind.
Burial will take place at a later date in Clyde, N. Car.
